JurisFile operates the jurisfile.com platform — an AI-powered legal document drafting service for Texas family law attorneys. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our Service.
For purposes of the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), JurisFile acts as a data controller with respect to account and billing information, and as a data processor with respect to case information you input for document generation.

Small Business Note: JurisFile qualifies as a small business under SBA size standards. We nonetheless comply with the spirit and purpose of the TDPSA in all material respects.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) applies to businesses with annual gross revenue over $25 million, personal data of 100,000+ California consumers, or deriving 50%+ of revenue from selling California consumer data.
JurisFile does not currently meet these thresholds. CCPA does not apply to JurisFile at this time. If our operations grow to meet these thresholds, we will update this policy and implement required CCPA compliance measures.
Regardless of statutory requirements, JurisFile does not sell personal data to any third party.
JurisFile is intended exclusively for licensed attorneys and legal professionals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us at privacy@jurisfile.com.
Note: Case input data may include names of minor children who are subjects of family law proceedings. Such information is processed solely to generate requested legal documents and is subject to the same confidentiality protections described in this Policy.
We do not use cookies for targeted advertising or cross-site tracking.
The Service integrates with third-party service providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies and by data processing agreements with JurisFile. Details are available upon request at privacy@jurisfile.com.
JurisFile is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party services beyond the contractual protections we require of them.
We understand that attorneys using JurisFile may input information protected by attorney-client privilege and the duty of confidentiality under Texas Rule 1.05. We treat all case input data as confidential and implement technical and contractual safeguards to protect it.
By using JurisFile, attorneys acknowledge they have made an independent determination that use of this cloud-based service is consistent with their professional confidentiality obligations. We recommend attorneys review Texas State Bar Ethics Opinion No. 648 regarding cloud computing and client confidentiality.
JurisFile operates as a data processor with respect to client information — processing it solely on your instructions to generate requested documents. We do not access, analyze, or use client information for any purpose beyond providing the Service.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a prominent notice on the Service at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
